Mark, Mike and Gary Conners have been self employed business owners for many years and wanted to expand into the Copy Center business. Mark discovered the Copy Café concept in our Wall Street Journal ad and contacted us to build a Copy Center for their family. Once their location was selected, the Copy Café Development team transformed our concept into an actual business plan tailored to fit both them, and their location. Upon receiving the approval, our team went to work and in less than 30 days, Mark and his family were in production, producing copy and digital print projects for their clients.

A few weeks later, we visited Mark’s Copy Center again. Although Mark was busy producing client orders, he provided us some time and some input on how the Copy Center was progressing.

We asked him five rather simple questions while we video taped his comments. Here were the questions:

1. “Why did you pick the Copy Cafe business model?”
2. “Was the Copy Café business model easy to learn?”
3. “How effective was the Copy Café training?”
4. “Even though its only been a few weeks, how is the business doing so far?
5. “What have you liked best about the Copy Café business model?”

As always, Mark’s answers were unrehearsed and to the point. Here is what he had to say about Copy Café.

Although all of his candid comments were great, one particular comment worth highlighting again here is when he said; “I think we have already put … conservatively in a couple of weeks time … 50,000 sheets through these machines.”

What I find interesting here is that according to the meter readings taken off the machines on that date, there was collectively more than 65,000 individual documents produced by then. I’d say this was a fairly spectacular amount of production for just two weeks into the business.
